I have always had a passion to create things, whether it was gardening, carpentry, or sports. Once I dedicated myself to medicine, it was natural for me to gravitate to surgery and orthopedics. It is a blessing to be able to be close to your children and grandchildren, and as a father and grandfather, I understand how difficult it is when you are told your child needs surgery. Simply being a physician is a gift I am thankful for every day. To be given the skill to help a child through surgery is an incredible privilege and responsibility.
