What happens years—or even decades—after an Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS) diagnosis? In this webinar, three experienced scoliosis surgeons and three patients come together to explore the long-term realities of living with AIS, combining clinical insight with real-world experiences. Topics will include long-term follow-up for AIS, common concerns patients face as they age, and long-term issues from an adult spine surgeon’s perspective, including how life stages such as pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause may intersect with scoliosis and prior treatment.
Patients will also share powerful personal perspectives, including one patient’s experience with surgery and how it shaped her life long-term, and another patient’s journey through pregnancy and childbirth after spinal fusion. The discussion will highlight why ongoing patient research matters, how patient-reported outcomes guide better care, and what patients should know as they plan for the future. Whether you are newly diagnosed, considering treatment, or living years beyond it, this session offers honest insight, evidence-based information, and reassurance to help patients and families better understand life after AIS.
