A Handbook the Entire Family Can Enjoy
ANNOUNCEMENT: The Scoliosis Handbook 4th Edition with new information on bracing, vertebral body tethering, innovative technology, and more is now available to download. Sign up for our mailing list today to get your hands on a FREE digital copy of the handbook.
This handbook about Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS) was written for you — to guide you as you start this journey; and by you — from the experiences and ideas of people who have traveled this road ahead of you. Having had the opportunity to care for many teens with Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis, we recognize that each family approaches this diagnosis in their own way. We hope that the information provided will help you in your journey through scoliosis treatment.
The second edition of the handbook is the culmination of over two years of work, which included extensive feedback on the first edition from both our colleagues and our patients. Widespread distribution of this handbook will not only improve scoliosis education, but it will also offer support for patients, their families and medical providers who treat scoliosis.
It is our goal to have the handbook translated into five languages so that we can improve the lives of children all over the world. This handbook has already been translated into Simple & Traditional Chinese, Turkish, Spanish & Latin-Spanish.

Spinal Fusion Surgery – Helpful Tips Booklet
This booklet was written by four young patients, ranging in age from middle school to high school, who have undergone spinal fusion surgery to correct scoliosis. Some of them had a “C” curve and others had an “S” curve. Between all of them, they experienced daytime bracing, nighttime bracing, no bracing, and in the end, spinal fusion surgery. Their goal is to pass the information that they’ve experienced and learned to other families to help make their journey through spinal fusion surgery a little bit easier.
