Diya Baldawa joined the SSS Patient Volunteer Committee in 2025, and we are so excited to have her as part of our team. Diya brings kindness, resilience, and a heartfelt commitment to supporting young patients who may be navigating the uncertainty of a scoliosis diagnosis. As she continues her volunteer journey with us, she is eager to learn, grow, and gain valuable experience while contributing meaningfully to our mission.
Diya’s scoliosis journey began at just four years old, followed by years of monitoring, bracing, and ultimately spinal fusion surgery at age thirteen. Her recovery required strength, patience, and a renewed focus on her mental well‑being. Today, she embraces her scar as a symbol of perseverance and hopes her experience encourages other patients to stay strong and trust that brighter days are ahead.
We are grateful to have Diya in our volunteer community and look forward to the compassion, insight, and positivity she brings to the team.
