Hello there! My name is Johnathan and I am a research assistant with SSSF. I was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to a father who was a 5th grade teacher and a mother who worked for the county. I have three sisters and a brother. At the age of 15 I moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I attended high school. Immediately after high school I joined the world’s finest Navy, which landed me in San Diego in 2006, and I have been here ever since.
In addition to working with this sensational foundation, I also work as a free-lance audio engineer and as an optical lab technician at my buddy’s optometry office. The dynamic of my professional capacities makes for an interesting lifestyle in that one night I may be helping entertain hundreds to thousands of audience members only to wake up the next day to recluse to my optical lab to repair frames and make lenses for patients, and then return to the comfort of my home to measure radiographs of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis in complete isolation. Sometimes all in one day!
I really enjoy spending time with my friends, helping people and making people laugh. Some of my hobbies include producing/playing music, performing magic, playing video games, playing disc golf and a multitude of other outdoor activities. I have been fortunate to have traveled to many places around the world, and I hope to continue to do so in the future as I want to experience as much of what this planet has to offer as I can.
