Emma was diagnosed with scoliosis at age 12 and underwent corrective spinal fusion surgery shortly after. She has served as a mentor to youth undergoing spinal fusion surgeries and is always looking to improve the comfort and care for scoliosis patients and families.
She is currently an undergraduate student at UC San Diego, majoring in Biochemistry. She is pursuing a career in medicine and hopes to continue ensuring patient centeredness through her work with the Setting Scoliosis Straight Patient Research Advisory Committee.
