Simrena Atwal joined the SSS Patient Volunteer Committee in 2025, and we are truly excited to have her as part of our team. Simrena brings a thoughtful, uplifting energy to our volunteer community, along with a deep passion for helping other families feel supported and informed as they navigate scoliosis. She is eager to continue learning, growing, and contributing her voice to our mission while gaining meaningful experience alongside our team.
Simrena’s scoliosis journey began at age eleven, when she was diagnosed with a rapidly progressing curve that ultimately led to Vertebral Body Tethering (VBT) surgery. Her experience—from the fear of an unexpected diagnosis to the strength she discovered during recovery—shaped her desire to encourage other young patients who may be feeling overwhelmed or uncertain. Today, she embraces opportunities to share her story and help others feel less alone.
