New Core & Associate Members

The Harms Study Group and Setting Scoliosis Straight are pleased to announce the addition of new members to our multi-center research team! Surgeon Larry Lenke from Washington University in St. Louis has returned as a core member, and Stefan Parent from St. Justine in Montreal has advanced from associate member to core member. Surgeons Ron Lehman and Michael Kelly from Washington University in St. Louis, Salil Upasani from Rady Children’s Hosptial in San Diego, and Tom Erico from NYU in New York have joined HSG as new associate members. We are happy to welcome them all!

New Core Members:

Lawrence G. Lenke, M.D.
He participated in the Harms Study Group as a core member from 1995-2006, as an associate member from 2006-2012 and is currently participating as a core member. His current position includes the Jerome J. Gilden Distinguished Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine and he holds the positions of Chief, Spine Surgery and Co-Chief, Adult/Pediatric Spinal Deformity Surgery. He completed his orthopedic and fellowship training at Washington University. He was president of the Scoliosis Research Society in 2011.


Stefan Parent, M.D., PhD
He joined the group in 2011 as an associate member and now participates as core member. He is currently Orthopaedic Surgeon, Associate Professor of Surgery, at the University of Montreal and is the Pediatric Spinal Deformity Academic Chair at Ste-Justine Hospital in Montreal, Canada. He completed his orthopedic training at the University of Montreal and two fellowships, the first one at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, California and a second one at Saint-Vincent de Paul in Paris, France. Stefan will join the SRS Board of Directors in 2013.
