This handbook about Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS) was written for you — to guide you as you start this journey; and by you — from the experiences and ideas of people who have traveled this road ahead of you. Having had the opportunity to care for many teens with Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis, we recognize that each family approaches this diagnosis in their own way. We hope that the information provided will help you in your journey through scoliosis treatment.
The second edition of the handbook is the culmination of over two years of work, which included extensive feedback on the first edition from both our colleagues and our patients. Widespread distribution of this handbook will not only improve scoliosis education, but it will also offer support for patients, their families and medical providers who treat scoliosis.
It is our goal to have the handbook translated into five languages so that we can improve the lives of children all over the world. This handbook has already been translated into Simple & Traditional Chinese, Turkish, Spanish & Latin-Spanish.

Scoliosis Ambassador and patient speaker at Power Over Scoliosis 2016Thank you all for allowing my mom and I to attend this program. It was an incredibly special weekend for us both- it's nice to feel part of a community who gets it! Please stay in touch and let me know how I can help in the future, I'd love to do more.Kelly Anderson
Patient mom and attendee of Power Over Scoliosis 2016Thank you for organizing a great event. The information and speakers were incredible. I simply could not get over the surgical talent and knowledge that congregated in one place. It was a parent’s dream team, and to be able to have access to their wisdom was amazing. I hope you continue to do these sessions in other cities.Valerie Burns
